You guys seemed to really like my post "Trellis" and I loved writing about the eccentric little town, so I thought I would write more. Here goes nothing.
"Tony listen to me!" Anna Walt snatch the Bud Light from her husbands clammy fist and gave him a glare.
"Hun you are blowing this way out of proportion."
"I am not! My mother is going to be in town in 2 days and your acting like everything's fine! Sophie still has a bald spot on the side of her head from the so called "haircut" you gave her, Cameron had C's and D's in all his classes and-" She stopped, lowering her voice. Thrusting her outstretched finger toward the side of the room where a sleeping Sierra lay "We still have to figure out what were gonna tell mom about her. Anna looked down, ashamed at her tone toward her own child. "Look. You know how on edge I am about my mom. She's just...judgmental thats all"
"mom?"
Anna and Tony whirled around in unison and were faced by a pajama clad, freckled faced boy, blanket in hand, standing in the doorway.
Tony rubbed his temples as he took another swig from his beer.
"Chris why are you out of bed," Anna asked, with a hint of aggravation in her voice.
"I couldn't sleep, Henry was snoring to loud," He yawned. Tony snatched some earplugs off the table by the bed and shuffled Chris into the adjacent room, careful not to wake one of the other 6 boys puppy piled into the 3 beds they could afford.
"G'night."
The combination of post-pardum depression, a parent coming to town and 11 kids to get ready for school by 8:50 made the next morning a hellish encounter that involved getting spit up on several times for Anna. She almost lost it as Sophie threw the cat at Miles, but luckily Gabe swooped in just in time for her to get a rare break. Gabe was 17, the oldest kid in the house. He planned on leaving Trellis by late october which was only 5 months away, the problem was he had no idea where he was going. What he wanted to do was move to a bigger city and then figure out his future from there. But he didn't even have a big enough vocabulary to know what moving entailed. All he knew was that it invlolve saying goodbye, something he had never been good at.
writing is my passion. This is the way that I can let the world see it. please comment and give me feedback. Thanks! ~Quinn (A.K.A Flywriter)

new look
When I started this blog a few years ago, there were very limited design choices. I was getting tired of the old look, so today I changed the template to something that I felt fit my writing a little better. I hope you enjoy this!
I have also felt that I have been neglecting my blog lately. I have about 6 posts stored in my head at the moment, I just haven't found time to actually sit down and put them on the blog. But I will find time soon and you can expect some new posts shortly. Thank you for being patient!
